Individual Paper Submission Requirements

Please note: Abstracts are limited to 350 words.

Any audiovisual equipment (eg., LCD projector) must be requested in the online proposal submission.

  Panel	Three 15-minute papers with chairperson and respondent OR Three 15–18-minute papers with chairperson	• Panel abstract • Individual paper abstracts • Chairperson required (respondent optional)	Panel presenters may not chair session
  Seminar	• Sustained discussion of a question or problem (Two 90-minute sessions) • Posted papers read by audience in advance	• Seminar abstract • One sentence description for each participant • Chairperson required	• Submit papers by Nov. 20 (10–20 pp) • Maximum 8 participants
  Roundtable	Structured discussions around pre-circulated questions and/or texts with the option to share materials publicly to encourage more robust session audience participation	•  Abstract with overall goal of the session • Questions discussants will address • Role/contribution of each discussant • Moderator required	• 3–5 discussants and active moderator • Discussants prepare 3–5 minute responses
  Lightning Session	Short presentations by 5–7 scholars	• Abstract with overall questions and goals • Individual paper abstract	Presentations 5–8 minutes
  Performance/Scholarship	Two presentations incorporating live performance by the scholars	• Respondent and Chair Required • Available as Session Submission Only • Abstract with both scholarship and performance clarified	Contact the AJS to discuss A/V needs in advance of submission
