Conference on Israel and Judaism Studies in Turkey
Israiliyat: Journal of Israeli and Judaic Studies [İsrailiyat: İsrail ve Yahudi Çalışmaları Dergisi, כתב העת לחקר ישראל ויהדות, مجلة الدراسات الإسرائيلية واليهودية], an annual, double blinded peer-reviewed journal, organizes Annual International Conference on Israel and Judaism Studies (ICIJS).
Israiliyat is pleased to announce that the annual International Conference on Israel and Judaism Studies (ICIJS), whose first meeting had been held in Konya in 2017, will be scheduled in Erdek/ Bandırma/ Balıkesir, Turkey on October 27-29, 2018. As an academic conference ICIJS’18 covers multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach to the Israel and Judaism studies, incorporating history, politics, sociology, culture, and religion etc. The mission of ICIJS’18 is to provide a platform for academics, students, and researchers from Turkey and all over the world to present their research results in Israel and Judaism studies.
ICIJS’18 also is pleased to announce the annual rewards delivered for the second time for the distinguished dissertations/ theses in the field of Israel and Judaism Studies in the categories of history, politics and religion in both the M.A. and PhD. decrees. Moreover, (co) authored, edited, and translation books having scientific features will also be awarded for the first time.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am honored to invite you to submit a paper for presentation at the Second International Conference on Israel and Judaism Studies in your areas of research that is relevant to any of the topics included in the ICIJS or Journal’ scope.
Conference attendees are expected to submit an extended abstract ( with title, theoretical background, research questions, methodological approach and main hypotheses. Additionally, abstract of 100-120 words in English must be submitted for papers written in Turkish. Up to two full papers by the same author(s) are accepted for presentation.
Presentations in conference are to be held in Turkish. Non-Turkish speaking participant are welcome to present their papers in English. Deadline for submission: September 15, 2018; notification of acceptance: one week later submissions, deadline for final paper submission: October 15, 2018.

The articles can be submitted by two methods; first direct email to me (firstname.lastname@example.org) or through the submission form available online on webpage (http://dergipark.gov.tr/israiliyat). If you find any kind of technical difficulty in form submission online then you can easily email us your paper.
Researchers who are unable to resolve the funding issue concerning the conference expenses will be provided with an alternative approach for participation, namely, virtual online presentation. Furthermore no submission fee is required as it is funded by university partially.
