Call for Applications for the Paula Hyman Mentorship Program Steering Committee

Jun 1, 2022, 11:36 AM

The Paula Hyman Mentorship Program seeks several new members for its steering committee. Under the auspices of the AJS, each year the steering committee chooses a cohort of 6 junior scholars who are women, nonbinary, or are other marginalized and underrepresented genders. These junior scholars are paired with senior scholars in the field of Jewish Studies by the steering committee, which also organizes and participates in various activities with the cohort. Steering committee members are asked to be involved in selecting mentees, helping with pairing mentees with mentors, suggesting ideas for programming, and occasional participation in virtual workshops throughout the year or during our in-person meeting after the AJS conference.

Review of applications takes place in late May or early June of each year. (So for new steering committee members, we may ask for programming assistance during Fall 2022 but reviewing applications will not a task until Spring 2023).
