September 2022 Advertising and Sponsorship Statement

The AJS has paused its relationship with Tablet so that it can revisit its policies about advertising and sponsored content. The AJS's mission is to advance scholarship and support its members' scholarly endeavors in academic and public contexts. The board of the AJS will continue to study how its mission is best accomplished when it comes to advertising and sponsorship relationships. As the leaders of the AJS reflect and talk to its members, some of whom feel direct harm from some of the views promulgated in Tablet, it intends to develop clear policies to help navigate these issues.
