This is an opportunity for approximately ten member volunteers to connect with the community and to reduce conference expenses. In exchange for volunteering for 4-6 hours over the course of the conference to be reimbursed 50% of your conference registration. Those who volunteer 8-10 hours over the course of the conference, your conference registration fee will be 100% reimbursed (in early January). Brief training and/or instructions will be provided for all volunteers.
Volunteers are typically needed to perform the following tasks:
• Event Check-In (note: special events generally occur in the evenings.) Volunteers will be asked to check attendees' name badges at the door and to mark off attendees' name on a list. Volunteers may be asked to distribute beverage tickets according to specific staff instructions. These tasks are usually performed while seated; however standing may be required.
• Signage/Room prep: Volunteers may be asked to set out, collect, or change directional signs at the start or end of each conference day. Carrying large, light objects, standing, and walking for brief periods of time are required for these tasks.
• Registration/Program Assistance: Volunteers will be asked to greet members at the registration desk, generate name badges from a database, distribute prepared tote bags/conference materials. Volunteers may also be asked to provide directions/answers to basic questions. Volunteers may be asked to help members download, log into, and navigate the online program portal on their phones. These tasks are usually performed while seated.
• Tote bag stuffing on Saturday afternoon only: Volunteers will need to insert brochures/printed materials, pens, and other promotional items into tote bags and will deposit completed tote bags into large bins. These tasks are usually performed while standing.
